Volunteer Appreciation "Thank You" Assembly
We would like to invite all of our wonderful volunteers who have donated 30 or more hours to an assembly in their honor on June 1st at 2:30 pm. We want to recognize these valued individuals and show our appreciation at this special event. Please stay tuned for the e-vite to follow.

Hot Lunch Reminder
There will be no charging hot lunch as of May 18th. Please make sure your son or daughter has money on their lunch account before sending them to school if they plan to eat hot lunch. They will not be allowed to charge and will have to call home for a lunch.

Student Information Survey
As the end of the school year approaches, many students and parents start looking to the next school year. Teachers start planning for the year, as well. After a year of teaching their students, teachers end up with lots of important knowledge about each child in their care that year, including academic strengths, challenges, and social dynamics. In addition, teachers know their colleagues well, and are able to match students with teachers in a way that best fits the needs of each student and the class. Much care is put into the placement of students into classes for the next grade level, by individual teachers, grade level teams, and administration. Teachers gather information about their new students at the beginning of the school year. However, if you would like to provide further information about your student to inform the process, please stop by the office to complete a Student Information Survey before May 18.

All Library Books Due, Thursday, May 24th
The district's universal due date for all library books is Thursday, May 24th. All books need to be returned, or paid for if they are lost, by that date. Please contact the library for more information.

Mother's Day and Father's Day Gift Ideas

Dress Code Reminders
With the weather getting warmer, students are wearing skirts, tanks and shorts. Per the Parent/Student Handbook, pages 18-19, please remember that clothes must be sufficient to cover undergarments. Halter tops, spaghetti strap tops, of-the-shoulder or low-cut tops, torn-off sleeves, bare-midriffs, and skirts and shorts shorter than mid-thigh are prohibited. Sleeveless blouses may be worn. The office will call home for a change of clothes if a student's outfit does not meet the dress code. Thank you!

Congratulations to our DI Team!
We are proud to announce that Rocklin Academy Meyers Destination Imagination team, The 4 Maharajas (3rd graders Cyrus Beckhorn, Arvind Srinivasan, Neev Mandot, and 2nd grader Arjun Sapru) placed 2nd in the Region 1 Tournament on March 3rd, 2012 at Olympus Junior High School in Roseville. The 4 Maharajas have now been selected to advance to the State Tournament to be held in Clovis, California, on March 31, 2012. Congratulations to the team on their achievement at the Regions and good luck for States! Go Maharajas!!

Dig Into Garden Club
We are happy to announce that Rocklin Academy is now teaming with Rocklin Elementary to offer students an opportunity to develop their green thumb. Students who join the club will work in the school garden during their first recess on Monday or Wednesday.
